For most players familiar with the Despicable Me franchise, there will be lots of content that will bring players back to familiar scenes and places in the movies.
The Despicable Me franchise launched in 2010 with the first movie and Despicable Me: Minion Rush released for mobile devices in 2013. The game has kept up with the movies offering updates and new content that takes advantage of the newer characters. With that being said, Despicable Me: Minion Rush has tons of costumes and each gives great bonuses to get more bananas, coins, and anything else a Minion lover could ask for. Let’s dive in and see upgrades are the best in the game.
How to Get Upgrades in Despicable Me: Minion Rush
Upgrades for the Minions are gotten through costumes. Getting costumes involves a few methods. An easy way to know how to get costumes is to go to the costume menu that is on the bottom left of the main screen’s menu and select the costume. The costume will pop up along with what ability the costume does. On the bottom right of the pop up that shows the costume selected, there will be a menu option called “Get Cards” which will have a list of how to get more cards for the selected costume. Complete the given tasks, collect the cards, and get the costume.
Each costume can be upgraded to have better abilities that can do a variety of things like getting more bananas, more distance, and longer bonus times for example. A really easy way to get upgrades is to go into the shop and continue watching ads for the Silver Prize pod until the option is exhausted. Quick ads give approximately 1-3 cards, 0-3 Gru tokens, and 20-30 bananas. Another way to get quick upgrades is by going to the My Career menu option on the bottom of the screen next to the Costume menu and doing the missions on the Global Goals, Daily Tasks, and Achievements. These are solid ways to get the costumes leveled up quickly and receive new costumes as well.
Best Upgrades in Despicable Me: Minion Rush
Now that we know how to get the upgrades through costumes and great ways to get them quickly, the best upgrades can depend a lot on which missions need a specific upgrade but a good standard on which to get will be the ones that give bananas quickly. The reason for this is because bananas are needed to upgrade cards once enough cards of a certain costume are gotten. The best costumes to get in this case would be the following:
- Leotard: 30% more bananas on pick up Vacationer: Get more time with the Banana Splitter Chinese Fu: 10% More spawns on the Banana Splitter Soccer Fan: When using Gru’s Rocket get 400% more bananas Bratt’s Workout: Get 400% more Bananas with the Banana Vaccum Lucy: Get 400% more bananas with the Banana Splitter Knight: When using the Fluffy Unicorn get 300% more Bananas
Other great upgrades are the ones that give more time or distance for points towards league play such as the Millionaire or the Barker for example. Talking about league play, the Astronaut, who gives more points for collecting stars on the moon, or even the Ninja, who keeps the Minion Shield active even when getting hit, are very valuable upgrades that can help rack up those points.
