With the Season of Dawn coming to Destiny 2: Shadowkeep, there a lot of changes Guardians will experience, including three new Ritual Weapons. While the weapons don’t seem to be meta defining, they come completely masterworked and have some interesting and unique perks that can be useful in PvE.

The Komodo-4FR Linear Fusion Rifle comes equipped with several basic but solid perks that are useful in any situation, the Python Shotgun is the first shotgun in Destiny 2 to have the Overflow perk, and the Buzzard Sidearm showcases a brand new, versatile perk that can be useful in the most difficult activities in the game.

This guide will cover how to unlock these powerfully, unique Ritual Weapons, and which perks are the best to maximize their damage.

Komodo-4FR: Heavy Solar Linear Fusion Rifle

Perks:

  • Polygonal Rifling Accelerated Coils No Distractions / Moving Target Eye of the Storm / Box Breathing

How to get the Komodo-4FR

To unlock this weapon, speak to Shaxx (the person who gives out Crucible bounties) in the Tower, and he will have a questline called “Heart of the Dragon”. In order to complete this quest, Guardians must get 125 final blows and 15 precision final blows with a Linear Fusion Rifle, and then achieve a Glory rank of “Heroic” in Crucible matches. That many final blows in Crucible can be a painstakingly long task, but having the Arbalest Exotic weapon will make this much easier since it takes Special Ammo, while the rest of the Linear Fusion Rifles in the game need Heavy Ammo. Once completed, talk to Shaxx again and receive the Komodo-4FR.

What are the best perks for the Komodo-4FR?

Which perks are the best? Well the first two perks are non-optional but give increased stability and faster charge time with decreased impact, respectively. The third perk gives Guardians an option between No Distractions  and Moving Target, while the fourth perk has them choose between Eye of the Storm and Box Breathing. While these perks are not flashy, they help players get the job done. Getting Linear Fusion Rifle kills becomes exponentially easier with the reduced flinching and increased accuracy from No Distractions and Eye of the Storm, and this loadout will definitely catch some Guardians off-guard in Crucible or Gambit.

Python: Special Void Shotgun

  • Smallbore Extended Mag Overflow / Feeding Frenzy Shield Disorient / One-Two Punch

How to get the Python Shotgun

To earn this weapon, speak to the Drifter (person who hands out Gambit bounties) in the Tower and accept the “Get Closer” quest. To complete this quest, players will need to get 500 finals blows and 150 close-range final blows with a shotgun, and then achieve an Infamy rank of “Heroic” in Gambit matches. While this seems like a lot, this quest can be completed relatively fast since you can get the final blows on just PvE enemies. Guardian kills also grant extra progress, so using the Gambit Invasion Portal can help speed up the quest as well.

What are the best perks for the Python?

The first two perks are guaranteed and give everything that shotgun users want: increased range, stability, and magazine size. The third perk is a choice between Overflow, which allows Guardians to reload the weapon beyond normal capacity, and Feeding Frenzy, which grants increased reload speed for a short time from kills.  Lastly, the fourth perk is a choice between Shield Disorient and One-Two Punch. While this gun won’t be too useful in PvP, it has the potential to be excellent in PvE. With Overflow and One-Two Punch, Guardians will be able to destroy any enemies at close range while not having to reload often because of the huge magazine sizes Overflow can provide.

Buzzard: Kinetic Sidearm

  • Extended Barrel Alloy Magazine Outlaw / Fourth Time’s The Charm Osmosis / Swashbuckler

How to get the Buzzard

This gun can be earned by speaking to Zavala (person who gives you Strike bounties) in the Tower and completing the “Anything That Moves” quest that he offers. Completing this quest is a grind as players need get 400 kills with a sidearm, 50 kills while airborne with a sidearm, and earn 10,000 points all while in a Vanguard Strike

What are the best perks for the Buzzard?

Like the rest of the Ritual Weapons, Guardians do not have a choice for the first two perks of Buzzard, which increases range, decreases handling, controls recoil, and increases reload speed when out of ammo. The third perk gives players a choice between Outlaw and Fourth Time’s The Charm. Outlaw will usually give Guardians higher DPS (damage per second) with the increased reload speed and the inconsistent activation requirement for Fourth Time’s The Charm makes it difficult to use. Osmosis is a brand new perk which changes the weapon’s damage type to match the Guardian’s subclass and lasts from when the grenade ability is used until Buzzard is stowed. While Swashbuckler (This weapon gains increased damage from melee kills and kills with this weapon) is generally more consistent, Osmosis is what make this gun unique. In more challenging activities, such as Nightfall Strikes, Osmosis can provide the versatility that Swashbuckler cannot.
