Destiny 2’s Corridors of Time mystery has been solved. Players have spent countless hours getting to the bottom of this mystery to learn the final reward. The reward is, as expected, loot.
The Corridors of Time mystery is the latest in Bungie’s long tradition of adding puzzles to the game and providing little to no guidance. Players formed mini-cabals to gather information and ultimately figured it out piece by agonizing piece. It began at Osiris’ sundial with a mystery quest telling Guardians to explore the Corridors of Time. No further instructions were given. But the mystery-solving Destiny 2 community was on the case. They quickly discovered that symbols on obelisks in the game laid out a path down various paths through the Corridors of Time. There was clearly more to solve, so the community kept working, with some popular streamers like Datto leading the charge. Bungie, ever-coy with information, stressed that the solution was a “marathon” rather than a sprint.
But now, Rock Paper Shotgun reports, the Destiny 2 Corridors of Time mystery has been solved. Players began to notice symbols reflected on the floor of the nameless Guardian’s tomb. The individual symbols did not help much, but Guardians around the world began sharing images - and realized that the groups of symbols, when put together, formed a massive map. Players have to travel through 30 portals in the correct order without making a single error. A Twitter user shared the full map solutioin to help visualize just how complex it was:
By taking the correct path through the portals, Guardians find themselves at the end - another grave room. Only they can interact with this one. Players are rewarded with the beginning of the quest for the exotic Bastion. After a few hours of questing, the deed is done. This outcome was predicted by many in the larger Destiny 2 community, many of whom have expressed disappointment that the reward was not something other than the first steps toward obtaining the Bastion. Players can access this quest by entering the portals in the following order: Clover, Diamond, Snake, Clover, Plus, Plus, Hex, Hex, Hex, Plus, Diamond, Plus, Snake, Diamond, Clover, Snake, Plus, Plus, Snake, Snake, Hex, Diamond, Clover, Plus, Diamond, Hex, Hex, Diamond, Plus, Diamond.
The Bastion is the only kinetic fusion rifle in Destiny 2 and allows you to charge up to three kinetic spread shots, making it great when enemies are bunched up. Though some may find themselves disappointed with the reward at the end, Guardians have long asked for a fusion rifle in the kinetic slot, and Bungie answered the call beautifully. It gives players a combination fusion rifle/shotgun and still allows powerful options in the other slots. It’s unclear if there is more to this mystery, but at least one path through this massive portal labyrinth has been discovered.
