Devil May Cry 5 brings the series back to its core roots of hack and slash gameplay with this entry. Here’s how to unlock the secret ending of Devil May Cry 5. The Devil May Cry series has the player taking on demonic entities from the Demon World with stylish combat. For Devil May Cry 5, the player takes control of three different playable characters. Nero, the laid back main protagonist of Devil May Cry 4, Dante, who is now much older and is a reoccurring playable character in the series, and now a brand new character to the series introduced in Devil May Cry 5, V. V is much more calculated than the other two, using his abilities to summon creatures to do his attacks for him. Players will alternate between these three characters during the campaign of Devil May Cry 5. This guide will show players how to unlock the secret ending to Devil May Cry 5.
Devil May Cry 5 begins with our primary antagonist, Urizen the Demon King, destroying Red Grave City and killing its citizens by collecting their blood. Dante and Nero meet in Qliphoth, a demonic tree that has taken over the city, to defeat Urizen. V also appears to give sarcastic advice to our other heroes. It’s revealed that Urizen actually stole Nero’s arm, and Nero is here to get revenge. Here, players will take control of Nero to battle Urizen. Urizen is meant to be a difficult boss and it is expected for players to die during this boss fight. Once the players’ health reaches zero, a cutscene will play of Nero and V escaping while Dante faces Urizen alone, and the rest of the adventure will continue. Although, this is the players’ way of getting the Devil May Cry 5 Secret Ending.
How To Get The Devil May Cry 5 Secret Ending
The secret ending is unlockable in the prologue. While playing as Nero, players are able to unlock the secret ending by defeating Urizen in their first encounter. The game makes it seem like this is a scripted fight since Urizen doesn’t take much damage when Nero attacks him. This fight is difficult, but it is not impossible. There are two methods in defeating Urizen. The first is completing Devil May Cry 5 in its entirety. Once the player completes the game, the player will have the ability to return to a previous mission with their endgame inventory and upgrades. This will make the fight much easier, but still a tough one. Focus Nero’s attention on the crystal. Once the crystal is shattered, Urizen will be open for attack. Nero can use his gun to attack from a distance to avoid being damaged. This fight requires learning Urizen patterns, so to save time, if the player is about to die, they can load to the previous checkpoint so they can attempt the fight again.
The other method of unlocking the Devil May Cry 5 Secret Ending is much more difficult but much more rewarding. This method requires the player to defeat Urizen on their first playthrough, without the upgrades, and on their first encounter. It’s not recommended to do it this way unless the player has the patience for trying again and again since even with the upgrades, this is a difficult battle. Although by doing it this way, the player won’t have to play through the entire game in order to be strong enough to unlock the secret ending. So the decision is really up to the player themselves.
Once players’ have defeated Urizen, the secret ending will play out. It’s a short little reward for the players’ troubles. The player also unlocks the “Well I’ll Be Damned” trophy. Yes, players can unlock the secret ending without having to play the game. Players can also do this on any difficulty. It’s recommended to do it on the lowest to make it easier to unlock. The Devil May Cry series has always been known to have humorous awards for the player to hunt down. Its character and charm are what make Devil May Cry an all-time favorite franchise for many gamers. The secret ending is a testament to remind players that above all, video games are meant to be fun.
