The debut of Disney+ is fast approaching and subscribers will need to set aside a lot of time in order to dive into the launch day content. It took the new streaming service over three hours to announce all of the titles that will be available on day one. Here’s how long it would take to watch Disney+ launch day content, including a breakdown highlighting movies and TV shows, separately.
There will be no shortage of content when launch day hits on November 12 but subscribers might have difficulty in finding the time to watch all of their favorite titles. Disney+ launch will consist of over 600 titles. YouTuber Rob Plays calculated that it will take 3,931 hours to watch all 633 movies & TV shows at launch. That breaks down to 163.8 days, or 23.4 weeks straight, but since then, it’s been confirmed that both Avatar and Avengers: Endgame will be available at launch too, taking that previous total to almost 3,937 hours. Disney+ hasn’t announced the run times for their original content which will be available on November 12 so those titles are not included in the total. The video estimates that the original content consists of around 10 extra hours.
It Takes Over 31 Days To Watch Disney+’s Launch Day Movies
To break down the content even further, the video specifies that out of the 635 launch date titles, 503 of them are movies. To watch all of the Disney+ movie titles on the launch, it will take viewers around 763 hours based on their run times. That comes to 31.79 days or a little over a month of constant viewing. The longest movie within the list is now Avengers: Endgame, which comes in at 3 hours and 1 minute. The total number will gradually increase as Disney+ programming grows with original movies, newly released titles, and recently acquired titles from Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar.
It Takes Over 132 Days To Watch Disney+’s Launch Day TV Shows
Out of the 132 TV shows that are included on Disney+ at launch, there will be 3,310 episodes available. Over 600 of those episodes come from The Simpsons alone. The number of episodes is a little trickier since not every episode of every show will be available, nor will every season. Focusing on those available episodes, it will take subscribers 3,173.4 hours to work through or upwards of 132 days straight. Similar to the situation with the movie segment, Disney+ plans to consistently add new titles making it harder and harder for viewers to keep up with content.
