Eagerly anticipated streaming service Disney+ is now available for pre-orders. Disney is set to become a major player in the streaming wars. The service launches on November 12, with a library of 862 movies and TV shows to be made immediately available for streaming, and much more on the way.

Disney+ is designed to bring all the properties owned by the House of Mouse under a single banner. Although much of Disney’s most popular content has previously been available elsewhere, for some time now they have been gradually removing it from the various platforms, principally Netflix, to make Disney+ the only place it can be streamed. As well as the animated movies most typically associated with the brand, also made available will be those of Pixar, all the movies and TV shows of both the universe of Star Wars and Marvel, and the factual and scientific content of National Geographic. In addition to content currently existing, the service will also see the debut over 25 original series, including the compellingly intriguing docuseries The World According to Jeff Goldblum that blindsided everyone, and ten original movies, including the live-action remake of Lady and the Tramp.

Although pre-ordering doesn’t confer any additional benefits, it does ensure that you will be able to view the content as soon as it becomes available, assuming you don’t become immediately overwhelmed by the vast volume on offer. You can sign up here, giving you a choice of a monthly subscription of $6.99 or an annual one of $69.99. The page also features a to-the-second countdown to the services’ launch, and an option to sign up for updates.

A major drawing point for the service is access will be the aforementioned original content available exclusively on the service. Most significantly, this includes the various upcoming TV series to based in the world of the MCU: WandaVision, Loki, Hawkeye, She-Hulk, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, What If…?, Ms Marvel and Moon Knight. Also available are the new TV series in the Star Wars universe, such as The Mandalorian, a continuation of The Clone Wars, and two other currently untitled series revolving around Obi-Wan Kenobi and Rogue One’s Cassian Andor.
