Just in time for the holiday shopping season, the Disney Store has updated its iPhone app adding Apple Pay as a checkout option for paying for your purchases. That means iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users can skip the process of having to manually enter debit or credit card information at checkout and instead pay with the touch of your fingerprint using Touch ID.
The Disney Store app has not yet been optimized for the larger iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus display sizes, though, so it still scales up on the iPhones that support Apple Pay.
Also, unlike other apps with Apple Pay support, you’ll also still have to enter your shipping information before choosing your payment option (some apps pull this information from your Apple Pay settings), but the checkout process is more convenient and secure with Apple Pay versus entering your credit card information manually at checkout.
(iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 also support using Apple Pay within apps, but the iPad version does not appear to support the payment option yet.)
In addition to supporting Apple Pay within its iPhone app at checkout, the brick-and-mortar Disney Store also supports Apple Pay allowing you to tap your iPhone to the checkout terminal to pay for your purchases. Disney Store for iPhone is available for free on the App Store.
