The Division 2 beta is on the verge of kicking off across several platforms this weekend. The Tom Clancy-branded sequel, The Division 2, will once again feature a shared world for gamers to explore and interact with one another, but with several major improvements that have lead some critics to claim that The Division 2 is Ubisoft’s biggest game release yet. It’s true that consumers are chomping at the bit to get their hands on the game, and it looks as if Ubisoft is keen to give them the opportunity to do just that.
The Division 2 closed beta wrapped up a few weeks ago, but Ubisoft is planning on opening up the experience to others. An open Division 2 beta for the game will be arriving ahead of The Division 2’s release on March 15, 2019. Best of all, this beta isn’t even that far away, as gamers across PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One will be able to go hands-on with the game for a four-day period as soon as March kicks off.
The official Ubisoft website states that players will be able to begin downloading the Division 2 beta on February 28, ahead of its launch. The Division 2 beta itself will kick off on March 1 and will run until the early morning of March 5, which will provide plenty of time to users that are hoping they can get a feel for the finished product ahead of its launch. A timeline for The Division 2 beta can be found below:
The Division 2 Beta Unlock Time
- Pre-load starts: February 28 at 04:00 AM EST Servers open: March 01 at 04:00 AM EST Servers close: March 05 at 04:00 AM EST
It’s important to note the above times for anyone that’s interested in getting the most out of the open beta for The Division 2. More importantly, this playable beta should provide developer Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft the opportunity to stress test their servers for the game ahead of its launch. When the price of improving the final product is simply logging on to play a game, it’s clear that fans anticipating the title will benefit in the long run if they too take the time to give the game a whirl.
Since Ubisoft is already considering the possibility for The Division to go international in future games, it’s evident that the publisher has big plans in place. Admittedly, those plans will surely be put to the back as the company focuses on the roadmap for The Division 2 in order to ensure the franchise’s longterm viability with a successful launch. Hopefully simple adjustments like lowering the populace of The Division 2’s Dark Zones can signal a strong first step in accommodating players.
