Ubisoft’s Division 2 came out with the Firewall specialization and burning enemies has never been more fun. Sure there’s a fire turret, incendiary grenades, and the Incendiary talent, but there’s something different about having a flamethrower. The Division 2 community got very excited when news of this new specialization gun came out and with good reason. Another exciting aspect of the specialization is that each field research stage that gets completed gives new vanity items and the Honey Badger weapon blueprint.
The specializations each have a skill tree that needs building to make the specialization, and the special weapon, more powerful. Not only do they give bonuses to the weapon itself but also extras such as the sidearm, the medkit, and a specific skill depending on which specialization has been chosen. This guide will focus on how to maximize the skill tree as quickly as possible providing some tips and tricks along the way. Not only will these tips work for the Firewall specialization but they will work for any other specialization as well.
Gaining Experience in Division 2
Division 2, while being the looter shooter it is, prides itself on being an RPG-style game where experience levels up the agent and also gives rewards such as loot crates. When it comes to specializations, it’s all about how to get experience quickly and efficiently. The more experience you get, the quicker the experience bar at the top right of the screen fills up, and the faster you can get those loot crates. When upgrading a specialization though, there’s a bonus when you get the experience bar filled up to the max. Three points of the specialization you’re building gets rewarded to be used in the upgrade tree at the specialization desk in the Base Of Operations. With all the enemies falling at your feet, having experience mods on your gear can boost those experience gains quite nicely. Throw on a destructive build revolving around seekers and XP mods and you’re building that experience bar nice and quick.
Projects in Division 2
Projects in Division 2 have multiple effects where completing the specified requirements gives loot, but with a specialization needing to have its tree maxed out, it becomes a fast way to get specialization points. Agents can combine doing Bounties, which gives three points while doing the projects because not only do some of the Bounty projects get points on their own but they might be part of a Project which gives points. Keep plugging those XP mods mentioned earlier and you’re leveling up at the same time. The number of points varies for doing Projects but each project will state how many points can be achieved by completing the tasks. The projects can also have missions to do, such as strongholds or places like Camp White Oak, and these can be great locations to get experience as well. Also, do not dismiss the Invaded missions. Completing them and the strongholds give five points towards the specialization tree
Control Points in Division 2
Doing a Control Point is a great way to get experience for level boosting although it might be the slower of the methods to get specialization points. The big issue with doing them to get points is only one specialization point can be earned by doing a Control Point and the Control Point needs to be maxed to level four. With this method getting the Control Point to level four requires doing the activities linked to the Control Point to get it to that level. The activities might not be a part of the Projects but can be done quicker than most missions and projects. Putting on XP mods is highly recommended if aiming for this method of gaining points which can lead to a quicker XP gain per hour played.
