Warning: SPOILERS for Doctor Doom #3
Fans wouldn’t have believed it if you told them, but the famous supervillain Doctor Doom may be the best chance his country has of not descending into war with their closest neighbor. Unfortunately for them, he is currently busy with another mission… having been chosen as the new servant of Lady Death. For any other Marvel character, that might seem like an unusual day. But not for Doom.
It goes to show how strong a character Doom really is that he should play so prominent a role in his own solo comic series, even after being murdered in Doctor Doom #2 and heading into Hell determined to crawl right back out. An unthinkable challenge he achieved with help from the aforementioned embodiment of death in Marvel’s Universe. Exactly what Lady Death meant when giving Victor Von Doom the role isn’t clear, but when he returned to the land of the living Doom had only one question. In a parallel timeline where he didn’t return, what happened to the world? The answer was just as simple: civilization completely collapsed within years. And that ball is about to being rolling.
As those who read Doctor Doom #3 already know, that amount of time was exactly thirteen years, confirming Doom’s place in keeping power structure stable throughout Europe. Now in Marvel’s official preview of Doctor Doom #4, Silver Sable and Victorious (entrusted with protecting Latveria while Doom is away) stand on the brink of war… a war which will never stop until the end of the world. And a war only Doom himself can hope to stop. Thankfully… they both want the same thing. Take a look at the preview pages below.
Fans will have to wait for the rest of the issue to see how Victorious and Sable fare in finding their absent friend, but in the meantime, read on for the full solicitation details and plot synopsis below:
