The sequel to 2017’s IT, IT Chapter Two concludes Stephen King’s story about the Losers’ Club and Pennywise, but does it have a post-credits scene or other tease? King’s novel was previously adapted to the small screen in 1990, with Tim Curry playing Pennywise the Clown, but in Andy Muschietti’s 2017 movie, Bill Skarsgård donned the makeup and clown outfit to scare a new generation of the Losers’ Club. IT followed the child versions of the story’s main characters as they first discover Pennywise’s presence in Derry and defeat the clown.

Now, IT Chapter Two picks up 27 years later, with the majority of the Losers’ Club members having moved away from their home town and forgotten about Pennywise - all except Mike Hanlon (Isaiah Mustafa). When Mike realizes Pennywise has returned, he calls on the remaining Losers to fulfill the oath they made as kids and return to Derry. But while Bill Denbrough (James McAvoy), Beverly Marsh (Jessica Chastain), Richie Tozier (Bill Hader), Eddie Kaspbrak (James Ransome) and Ben Hanscom (Jay Ryan) make it back, Stanley Uris (Andy Bean) doesn’t. The remaining Losers will have to confront not only their past battle with Pennywise but their darkest fears in order to defeat the villainous clown once and for all.

With IT Chapter Two his hitting theaters around the country, moviegoers may be wondering if there’s anything after the credits to stick around for. However, IT Chapter Two does NOT have a post-credits scene or any other kind of tease. While the credits are always worth watching to see who’s involved in the making of a film, IT Chapter Two viewers shouldn’t expect any scene or audio cues at the very end.

Two years ago, the IT post-credits scene teased Pennywise’s return with an audio cue of Skarsgård’s character laughing, then the title of the movie transforming into IT Chapter One, confirming Muschietti and Warner Bros. had plans for the sequel. Thankfully IT was massively successful and paved the way for Chapter Two. Now, though it’s unclear whether IT Chapter Two will be quite as successful, especially considering the slightly mixed reviews of the sequel, it remains to be seen if the studio even wants more movies set within this universe. After all, Chapter Two finishes telling the story of King’s book. But there’s room for other aspects of the world to be explored, including a Pennywise prequel.

Still, it makes sense for IT Chapter Two not to include a post-credits scene or tease of any kind since it’s the end of the Losers’ Club and Pennywise’s story. Any future movies featuring Pennywise or set within the world of IT will be prequels or spinoffs. But there’s no certainty more films in this universe will ever be made. So for now, all fans need to know is that they don’t have to stick around for an IT Chapter Two post-credits scene. Instead, they can just focus on the Losers Club returning to Derry and facing off against Pennywise once again.
