Jumanji: The Next Level serves as the second sequel to 1995’s Jumanji but does the film have a post-credits scene, and if so, how many? Sony rebooted the franchise over 20 years after the original with Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle in 2017. The movie directed by Jake Kasdan, starred Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Jack Black, and Nick Jonas as the players of the titular game. The sequel turned out to be a bonafide hit, exceeding expectations while making $962.1 million at the box office.
The 2017 sequel changed the original format of the traditional board game to a cursed video game that transported four teenagers - Spencer, Fridge, Martha, and Bethany - into the immersive world of Jumanji. When they managed to escape Jumanji by the end of the movie, the group destroyed the video game but it’s brought back to life in Jumanji: The Next Level. Unbeknownst to the rest of his friends, Spencer kept the pieces and put the console back together. He consequently gets sucked back into the game, causing his friends, and a few new faces (including Danny DeVito), to enter Jumanji to rescue him. They then get swept up into a new dangerous quest.
Those planning on checking out Jumanji: The Next Level this holiday season could be curious if they should stay in their seats for a post-credits scene. Jumanji: The Next Level DOES have an end-credits scene shortly after the movie concludes. Moviegoers might be interesting in sticking around to check out the cast and crew of the large ensemble project but fans should also expect a credits scene as well as an audio clip at the very end.
The Post-Credits Scene Is Important To Jumanji’s Future
We won’t spoil what occurs in the Jumanji: The Next Level post-credits scene for those who still have yet to see it, but it’s important to note that the scene helps set up a sequel. In fact, the credits scene sets up a new installment that could potentially serve as a sequel to the original movie. For fans of the ’90s cult classic, this credits scene is a must-see. The audio clip at the very end of the credits, on the other hand, doesn’t include any footage so it’s understandable if viewers would rather skip that one.
It’s unclear what the future holds beyond Jumanji: The Next Level but another sequel seems inevitable based on the credits tease. Another installment could very well mark the concluding chapter of the franchise as it reverts back to the original by bringing the plot full circle. Although Robin Williams wouldn’t be able to return due to his untimely death in 2014, it would be fun to see characters from the original reprise their roles alongside the new era characters.
