Disney’s remake of The Lion King was a worldwide megahit and now it’s available on home video, just in time for the holidays, with all-new bonus features and music videos. Back in August, a Chicago Tribune report claimed that the iPhone 7 was operating at illegal radiation levels after commissioning tests for that model, the iPhone 8, and some Android smartphones. Now it looks like the FCC has run more tests and says that the iPhone and Samsung’s Galaxy phones don’t exceed the legal RF radiation exposure levels (via Bloomberg). As we covered earlier this year, the Chicago Tribune ordered the tests which “were reportedly carried out according to federal guidelines at an accredited lab, and were replicated with three further brand-new phones to guard against the possibility of a single faulty product…”...

A new TV spot for Detective Pikachu has been released, featuring a lot more Psyduck. The film has seen considerable marketing these last two months, with Warner Bros. having released TV spots focusing on humor and the emotional aspect of the story. Detective Pikachu has seen almost nothing but positive buzz since the release of the first trailer back in November. The Pokémon film is releasing next week, and early reactions are positive....

Following a report last week that said Apple is looking to release an OLED iPhone sometime in 2017, Digitimes today reports that the company is planning a 5.8-inch OLED device (via The Motley Fool). While the report should be taken with a grain of salt considering the source, it claims that Apple is pushing to release the larger device sometime in 2018, or perhaps even earlier in 2017, which lines up with last week’s report....

Warning: SPOILERS ahead for Doctor Sleep. Doctor Sleep is a continuation of The Shining that features several characters from the original movie - including the Overlook Hotel itself. Based on Stephen King’s 2013 novel, the sequel was directed by Mike Flanagan and has many visual references to Stanley Kubrick’s 1980 classic. In The Shining, Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) relocates his family to the Overlook Hotel in Colorado. Jack’s wife, Wendy (Shelley Duvall), is initially supportive of her husband’s plan to earn money looking after the hotel while working on his writing, but ultimately becomes worried once Jack’s demeanor changes for the worse....

Update: a new report suggests that the problem is caused by paying the subscription with a virtual card number. Developers should try using the regular card number instead. Some developers are experiencing issues with the Apple Developer Program subscription outside the United States, according to reports on the web. The problem is preventing people from enrolling in the Apple Developer Program for the first time, or even renewing an existing account....

Dexcom announced today that it’s preparing updates to its two mobile apps that will allow users of its Continuous Glucose Monitor System to track everything straight from Apple Watch. The apps will not only let users view their own glucose information, but also invite others– parents or caregivers for example– to monitor the data from their own Apple Watch.
