On Tuesday we reported that Apple was planning to reveal its entry into the wearable market in August or September. Now a new Digitimes report corroborates that timeframe. According to the new report, three different firms have supplied Apple with samples of flexible circuit boards that will be integrated into the iWatch for a fall release. The companies involved are Flexium Interconnect, Career Technology, and Zhen Ding Technology Holding, according to Digitimes....

The rumors have been going on for months, but Digitimes is today saying Apple’s new processor foundry is Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC). The move by Apple is believed to be precipitated by Apple’s ongoing legal battles with Samsung, who has provided Apple with processors since the original iPhone was released in 2007 through Apple’s release of “its own” A4 processor and A5 iPad processor earlier this year. The contract appears to be long and lucrative for TSMC....

Fresh on the heels of its purchase of communications company DBSD North America for about $1.4 billion, Dish Network snapped up video rental service operator Blockbuster in a bankruptcy auction for a cool $320 million. About $228 million will be paid in cash and the transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2011. The company outbid at least three contenders and now stands to bolster its offering by taking advantage of Blockbuster’s online movie rentals, Reuters explains:...

Disney is releasing a recorded movie version of the Hamilton stage musical in 2021. Written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, the show tells the story of lesser-known American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton through a variety of modern musical styles. It was easily the biggest Broadway sensation in the 2010s, making a star out of Miranda - who also played Hamilton in the musical’s original Broadway run - in the process.
