Quoting industry sources, the site says that Apple will launch a $1200 Kaby Lake ‘entry-level’ MacBook in September. They also believe the iPad mini 4 will continue to be sold as-is, and expect Apple to announce the AirPower release date at the 2018 iPhone event, with a price point in the $160-$190 range …...

Doctor Sleep has been praised by Stephen King himself as a worthy adaptation of his book of the same name, but it still makes some big changes to the source material. The much-anticipated sequel to Stephen King’s bestseller, The Shining, hit the bookshelves in 2013, while the sequel hit theaters early November 2019. Critics and audiences were mixed on Doctor Sleep, and its box office performance was subpar too. The film version of Doctor Sleep, directed by Mike Flanagan, follows Dan Torrance (Ewan McGregor) decades after the horrific events at the Overlook Hotel, as he battles alcoholism and tries to make a new life for himself....

When Doctor Strange was brought into the MCU, he introduced a whole new supernatural side of the universe. Through his origin story, he transformed from a self-centered surgeon to a hero who was willing to put his own life on the line to save the day. He was then further brought into the fold when he joined the other heroes in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. The sequel to 2017’s IT, IT Chapter Two concludes Stephen King’s story about the Losers’ Club and Pennywise, but does it have a post-credits scene or other tease? King’s novel was previously adapted to the small screen in 1990, with Tim Curry playing Pennywise the Clown, but in Andy Muschietti’s 2017 movie, Bill Skarsgård donned the makeup and clown outfit to scare a new generation of the Losers’ Club. Disney is banning commercials for Netflix Original movie and TV shows on several of its entertainment networks. As the Mouse House prepares to launch its Disney Plus streaming service in November, it continues to cut ties with its onetime collaborator Netflix. In addition to pulling its movies from the streamer (including, Marvel Studios, Pixar, and Star Wars films), Disney has ended their previous partnership with Netflix on Marvel TV’s The Defenders mini-universe....

A Disney Plus price increase has been announced, up $1 from $6.99/month to $7.99/month. Subscribers do get a little breathing space, as Disney is giving more than three month’s notice of the hike: it will take effect on March 26, 2021 … The Verge notes the increases. It follows Netflix increasing its prices in October and November. Also, the Disney Bundle — that has Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Plus — will see a $1 increase to $13....

iOS 5 beta 4 seems to be all about cleaning up the operating system and testing new features prior to the system’s launch this fall (likely in September). Meanwhile, everyone’s favorite Piper Analyst Gene Munster is giving 75% odds on a January announcement and 50% odds on a Tablet. He also lays out the following: If the tablet were announced in January, he would expect it to ship some time in Apple’s second fiscal quarter. “Based on a conversation this week with a Taiwanese component supplier,” he writes, “we expect Apple to ship a tablet device by the end March....

The company’s Q4 Brand Phishing Report for 2021 ranks the top 10 most imitated brands in October, November and December. Researchers at Check Point found DHL’s brand used in 23% of all phishing attacks they saw globally. Microsoft was second at 20%, while WhatsApp came in at 11% and Google appeared in 10%. “This quarter, for the first time, we’ve seen global logistics company DHL top the rankings as the most likely brand to be imitated, presumably to capitalize on the soaring number of new and potentially vulnerable online shoppers during the year’s busiest retail period,” Dembinsky said....

Tangled is Disney’s fun retelling of Rapunzel that hit theaters in 2010. The story stars a cute golden hair heroine, a swash-buckling thief, a sassy chameleon, a dog-like horse, and a manipulative villain. Their adventure is backdropped by a vibrant kingdom and a whole bunch of floating lanterns. While this is the Tangled we know and love, lots of early illustrations show the characters wearing different outfits, exploring varied locations, and altogether taking on different forms....

Two more Marvel shows are in the works for Disney+, adding to a growing slate of content. It’s been a few months since Disney launched its streaming service with exclusive programming like The Mandalorian and the live-action/CGI-hybrid Lady and the Tramp remake, but they’ve yet to have any major Marvel Cinematic Universe content so far.
